Sprinter – My term for wintery spring.

by on Mar.30, 2011, under Earring Giveaways, Earring Updates, Farmers Market, Life Stories, Photography

It’s cold, sort of, and wet, definitely. And when the wind blows it feels colder and makes the wet go sideways. I am always amazed how the Flowering Current, Indian Plum, the tender blooms on the fruit trees, and the narcissus, crocus and daffodils can possibly survive the chill and pounding rains. But they do, although not always well.

The deer are on the prowl for fresh and tasty spring greens and have nibbled away on the not-open buds of my daffodils, the tender day lilies, and of course, the quickly growing grass of which they can eat all they want. I find myself in high spirits when the sun shines, more quiet and pensive when it is gray. But gray it is much of the time so I need to bring those high spirits into play when there is no sunshine to bring it on. Friends, spin class, and beads of lovely colors do that for me.

I’ve been looking at my beads lately, trying to create, but at the moment no creations are emerging. That’s ok, though, because my hands will wake up, my creative curiosity will become insatiable, and I will make in abundance again.

Meanwhile, I need to ask a question: Asymmetrical, not quite matching earrings in threes…is it an interesting concept that is worthy of continuing, or are matching twos more practical/desirable?

Send me your honest comment and get entered in a drawing for a set of three!

It does differentiate you. I do have exactly 3 lower ear piercings too so I must like the asymmetrical idea. On the other hand, with your nerve damage, you could produce 33% more earring sets than you are now in the same amount of time and probably sell them for the same amount of money. Have you done an experiment where you have both kinds out and see what happens?

  • Keesha Davis

    Wait! 50% more earring sets.

I really like the sets of 3, especially when they are all different. I can mix and match. BUT your pairs are also sweet. You could mave pairs of different levels of fanciness, at different price points, and have the 3s at a slightly higher price point for splurges or gifts.

I think matching pairs might be more practical, particularly in terms of your hand and healing and the economy, BUT threes are kind of a wonderful quirky niche.

Maybe do a series of twos, for the practical side of you, and then a series of threes at a higher price (like marisa said above) for the splurging side of you.

Watch what sells more and keep them a separate series like you do with the Simple Sweets.

    They are all beautiful!!!!

I vote for asymmetrical. Even if in pairs rather than thrairs. Although one can never dangle too many DiNesti’s – no need to put my name in the drawing since I’ve already been a lucky winner.

I have always loved the idea that you offer 3! I have never seen it before and really like it.

I have always enjoyed seeing your creativity thru beads and wire and then I get to show others how great you are by wearing them every where I go I don’t hardly leave the house without three art pieces hanging from my ears! I always keep a couple of your cards in my pocket and hand them out when people say wow where did you get those earing they are so cute!

I do like the quirky threes, and it ensures a longer life of wear if I lose one (WHEN not “if”). But these days, would I pay more for a triple if a “twosie” were available? Probably not. That’s a budget decision, not my first choice.
